Save-N-Sync is a simple, yet powerful tool designed to help you backup your important data such as documents, pictures, MP3s, etc. Save-N-Sync can be used to ensure that your important data is safe from hardware failures, virus infections, as well as accidental deletions. Unlike most personal backup solutions that are currently available for Microsoft Windows only, Save-N-Sync has been designed from the start to work on multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Save-N-Sync is also unique in the fact that it offers its users the speed and convenience of local backups and restores (for example, to and from an external hard drive attached to your computer) with the flexibility of online backup for access to files from any web browser.
How it Works
The two basic required configuration items in Save-N-Sync are the source folder (or a folder containing the important files that you use everyday) and the target folder (or a folder to which you want to backup your files). Save-N-Sync ensures that the folders and files within the selected source folder are successfully copied to the selected target folder. Save-N-Sync also ensures that changes to files within the source folder are also copied to the target folder. This process can be started manually, on a fixed schedule (for example, once a day at noon) or interval (for example, every hour), or even in real-time when changes occur. With real-time, changes that are made to files and folders in the source folder are quickly duplicated to the target folder.
Using specially placed shortcuts, Save-N-Sync can also be set to run upon system start. When this is used in conjunction some form of scheduled or real-time mode, Save-N-Sync makes sure that any changes to your folders and files are always backed up while the system is running without requiring any user intervention.
